Who we are
The Talent Team is the event-staffing platform run by The Talent Team LLC ("we", "us"), 5445 Oceanus Drive #113, Huntington Beach, CA 92649, the official event staffing partner of Jiu Jitsu World League (JJWL). We provide staff to our clients' events, such as Jiu Jitsu World League tournaments. The platform is used by people who work those events as independent contractors and by coordinators who schedule and pay them.
What we collect
- Account: name, phone number, email address, and the identifier from the sign-in provider you use (Google, Apple, or a phone code).
- Profile: home address (used to estimate distance to venues), optional photo, bio and prior experience.
- Work: events you request, shifts you are assigned, confirmations, clock-in and clock-out times, location at clock-in when an event requires it, ratings from supervisors, training results, messages exchanged in the app, on WhatsApp or by text message.
- Messaging preferences: whether you agreed to receive messages on WhatsApp and by text, when you agreed, and any opt-out. For texts we also keep the mobile number, the IP address and the wording you agreed to.
- Pay: amounts earned, reimbursement claims and receipts, and the payee you choose to be paid under. We do not store tax identification numbers or bank account numbers; those are collected and held by our tax-form and payout providers.
How we use it
- To staff events: matching your availability and qualifications to shifts, confirmations, reminders and event-day coordination.
- To pay you and meet tax obligations, including IRS Form 1099-NEC reporting by The Talent Team LLC when required.
- To send you notifications in the app and, if you agreed, on WhatsApp and by text message.
- To keep the platform secure and to diagnose problems.
If you choose WhatsApp, The Talent Team sends shift offers, confirmations, reminders, pay updates and messages from our coordinators to your WhatsApp from +1 (645) 206-3970. Your replies are saved with your account so any coordinator can help you. Messages are delivered through WhatsApp (Meta Platforms), which processes them on our behalf. Reply STOP to stop WhatsApp messages and START to resume, or change your choice under Profile → Stay in touch. Text messages are covered under SMS / Text Messaging below.
Who we share it with
Service providers acting for us: hosting and database (Vercel, Neon), sign-in (Google, Apple), messaging (WhatsApp by Meta Platforms, and our text-messaging provider), W-9 and 1099 processing, and payouts. The client whose event you are working, and its on-site supervisors, see the information needed to run that event: your name, position, schedule, attendance and ratings. We do not sell personal information.
SMS / Text Messaging
If you opt in to receive text messages from The Talent Team LLC, we use your mobile phone number to send you shift offers, shift confirmations, schedule updates, reminders and one-time login codes. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at care@talentteamllc.com.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Retention
Work and pay records are kept as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes (generally seven years). You can ask us to delete your profile at any time; records we must keep by law are retained.
Your choices
You can update your profile in the app, choose how you are paid, and turn WhatsApp or text messages on or off under Profile → Stay in touch, or off by replying STOP. To access, correct or delete your data, contact us below.
